In 2021, we were selected as the 2021 Irrigation Association Vanguard Award recipient, which recognizes innovative projects that promote efficient irrigation. As part of this project, we assisted the Dundee, FL Citrus Growers Association and Precision Citrus LLC to create Florida’s first commercially viable Citrus Under Protective Screen (CUPS) project. Our team designed an automated irrigation and control system to provide specific amounts of water and nutrients to the trees. In addition to proving that there is a viable alternative to traditional growing practices, this project protected the citrus trees from contracting the greening disease, which has ravaged Florida's citrus industry.
