The Agri Services International story began 4 decades ago. When we started our first full-service agricultural irrigation company in 1982, we set out on a mission to help farmers improve their irrigation practices. That remains our abiding goal today. We are a member of the Irrigation Association and have a highly experienced staff with hundreds of years of combined experience in agricultural and farm irrigation. The Vanguard Award recognizes an innovative project that exemplifies the association's mission of promoting efficient irrigation.
Through this project, we assisted the Dundee, FL Citrus Growers Association and Precision Citrus LLC to create Florida’s first commercially viable Citrus Under Protective Screen (CUPS) project. Our team designed an automated irrigation and control system to provide specific amounts of water and nutrients to the trees. This approach protected the citrus trees from contracting the greening disease that has ravaged Florida's citrus industry, proving there is a viable alternative to traditional growing practices.
